Giving

We serve by giving generously

Cash and Food Offerings are accepted during the offering at our worship service.
During worship we accept offerings in three different ways:

  1. Cash or checks can be placed in the basket to support the ministry of Christ the Servant.
  2. Funds placed in the small cans go to World Hunger.
  3. Food donations may be placed in the large baskets on the corners of the altar platform for Gaithersburg HELP.

Give Online

Online: allows you to donate using your credit or debit card number, checking or savings account. Pay online through the secure Vanco online donation portal via Bank Account, Debit Card, or Credit Card. (Note: Credit and debit card transactions incur a fee to CTS of 2.65% to 3.5% of the total, and there is a small per-transaction fee associated with contributions drawn directly from checking, or savings account.)

Simply Giving
Simply Giving is an automated, paperless program where funds are transferred from the contributor’s bank account directly to the church. You decide how much and when. There is no charge to the contributor for this method. Contact the Financial Secretary to enroll.

Offering Envelopes

Offering Envelopes are available to use to make donations during worship services or at other times. You can obtain offering envelopes by speaking to the pastor or Financial Secretary. Additional envelopes are available on the Usher’s table at the back of the Sanctuary . “Tithe envelopes or cost cut envelopes,” are resources generally used for the purpose of collecting monetary donations for current ministry expenses, benevolent funds, tithing, and many more options.

Annual Pledges
Annual pledges help us plan the church’s budget. Members are asked to complete a pledge form and return it to our Financial Secretary by November 1.

Stock Donations

Donating Shares of Stock can be done as a transfer directly into the church’s brokerage account with Thrivent. The church benefits from the net value of the stock once the shares are sold. The contributor may claim the value of the stock at the time of transfer for income tax purposes. For more information on donating stock, please contact the Financial Secretary.

Gifts in Kind
Gifts in Kind are non-cash contributions to the church (goods or services that support the ministries and activities of the church). Receipts for donations should be submitted to the Financial Secretary. In-kind donations are reported on your quarterly and annual statement. We do not accept drop-offs of clothing or any household items. These can be donated directly to various organizations, including Interfaith Works and Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore.

Quarterly Statements of Contributions

Monetary contributions (cash, check, or electronic offerings) to the church, as well as gifts of stock, and gifts-in-kind qualify as charitable contributions for income tax purposes. We record all monetary offerings into a database system that makes it possible for us to generate quarterly statements. As a documented contributor, you will receive by electronic mail a report of your giving to the church, suitable for income tax purposes.
